George Lipper 1933 – 2014.

July 22, 2014
George Lipper, 80 years old, transitioned to a new life July 19 after suffering a massive stroke. We will celebrate George’s life on July 23 at 1:00pm at Desert Vista,10360 Sun City Blvd in Sun City Summerlin Community, Las Vegas, Nevada, with reception following.

George led a life of integrity and honor. He entered the Marines fresh out of high school and served in Japan. He told stories of transporting Japanese soldiers for repatriation.

George would fight for any cause he found worthy. One such case was the Tri State Bridge in Dubuque, IA. He spent years raising funds, meeting & beating road blocks. The bridge was built and connects 3 states, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.

George loved language and plays on words. He always kept a thesaurus at hand. He learned a new word daily. One line zingers were a trademark for George. His sense of humor was amazing. Golf was his passion for years.

George had many years invested in the world of radio. He started as a reporter and advanced to the station owner. He worked for the Dept of Economic Development in Des Moines, IA, which led to his final career as editor of the Lipper Current. The Lipper Current is a well followed "watering hole of information" for those interested in seed capital investments.

George left behind those who will meet him in heaven – his wife, Jan Lipper, children Bryna Lipper, Shawna Lipper, Shannon Lipper, Carey Hayse, Casey Hayse, Roxann Payne and Nancy Royer plus 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
